<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an axle sensor having a structure effective in improving a noise resistance against a noise having the same frequency as that of an axle sensing system, and also to provide an axle sensing apparatus using the sensor. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The axle sensor includes a first and a second reception coils 21 and 22. The first and the second coils 21 and 22 are both vertically arranged with their coil axes O1 and O2 aligned with each other. Each of the first and the second reception coils 21 and 22 generates a signal responding to a change of an alternating current magnetic field ϕ1 sent from a transmission coil 11, and each of them outputs the signal.
