<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve receiving performance of a visible light communication system for communication data and to improve the communication effective speed of the system. <P>SOLUTION: A luminaire includes a light source unit having LEDs of red, green and blue, and a transmission control unit which performs transmission control for a visible light signal, containing communication data and generated by modulating light emitted from a predetermined LED, to a reception terminal. The transmission control unit superposes a signal current corresponding to modulated information on a current supplied to the red LED based upon a duty ratio. In combination, illumination modes of the blue LED are changed in the start timing of the visible light signal. The change in illumination mode becomes a trigger signal indicating the start of visible light communication. Consequently, the start of the visible light communication is received independently of the visible light signal, so the receiving performance is improved. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
