PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a powder filling apparatus having high capacity and enabling precise filling. SOLUTION: In the powder filling apparatus, an auger 22, the rotation of which is controlled with a controller, is arranged in a valve housing 12 to fill a powder supplied from a supplying means 10 into a container 8 by rotation of the auger 22, and an electronic balance 62 is provided at a position where the container 8 is supplied and a sensor 46(46A, 46B) to detect a quantity of the powder stored in a storing room 14 of the valve housing 12 is provided and the operation is performed in a first operation mode that the auger 22 is rotated by a predetermined rotation angle when the quantity of the powder in the storing room 14 is normal and in a second operation mode that the rotation of the auger 22 is controlled from a signal of the electronic balance 62 when the quantity of the powder in the storing room 14 is insufficient.
