<p>The present invention relates to a plasma display apparatus. The plasma display apparatus comprises: an upper substrate; first and second electrodes formed on the upper substrate; a lower substrate facing the upper substrate; and third electrodes and barrier ribs both of which are formed on the lower substrate. First and second black matrixes on the upper substrate are separated from each other to form in a straight line. According to the present invention, short circuits or stain defects which may occur during simultaneous exposure to light can be reduced while the function for improving the contrast ratio and reflectance of black matrixes is maintained. Therefore, image quality, production cost, and productivity can be improved.</p>
