<p>PURPOSE: A high performance tire is provided to improve the life of a tire more than a run-flat tire in run-flat operation. CONSTITUTION: A high performance tire(100) having a side wall insert is composed of a carcass, an inner liner, a side wall part(106), a bead part(108), and a tread part(102). The carcass has at least carcass ply(114,116). The bead part includes a bead core(110) and a bead apex. The tread part is arranged in the radial outer part of the carcass. The side wall part includes a rubber insert of one crescent shape which is positioned between an inner liner and at least one carcass ply. The rubber insert has relatively high strength and low hysteresis.</p> |
