DEVICE FOR DETECTING AN INVERTER TROUBLE AND METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: An inverter error detection apparatus and a method thereof are provided to detect the discontinuity of a signal assumed as an error by using a discrete wavelet transform, thereby obtaining the clear error decision criterion. CONSTITUTION: A current detector detects and outputs the current signals of each phase of an inverter. An error detector(200) performs discrete wavelet transform for the current signals of each phase received from the current detector to detect an error moment. The error detector determines an error by using a support vector machine. A normalizing unit(210) normalizes the current signals of each phase so that the received current signals of each phase have a constant amplitude. A detector(220) performs the discrete wavelet transform of the normalized current signals to detect the discontinuity of a signal.
