<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reflection type light emitting diode allowing the thickness of an element mounting part of a first lead on the side for mounting a light emitting element to be easily adjusted in response to the type of the light emitting element to be mounted there, and for providing high-luminance emission by optimally adjusting, for any type of light emitting element, the distance between its light emitting surface and the center of a reflecting surface. <P>SOLUTION: This invention is characterized by this reflection type light emitting diode 1 which includes a concave reflecting surface 2 in the inside, and in which a pair of first and second leads 7 and 8 having chip parts facing each other at the opening-side center part of the reflecting surface are installed; an element mounting part 71 of a predetermined thickness is formed by reducing the thickness on the undersurface side of the chip part of the first lead facing the reflecting surface; the light emitting element 9 is mounted on the undersurface side of the chip part reduced in thickness; and a wire 10 is bonded between the light emitting element and the chip part of the second lead. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
