<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a circuit scale and to lower costs. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A DA converting circuit is provided with: a reference voltage generating circuit 101 which generates reference voltages G (63:0) having different voltage values of reference voltages V0 to V8 using the reference voltages V0 to V8; a selecting circuit 102 which selects one reference voltage out of the reference voltages G (63:0) by controlling a plurality of MOS transistors sectioned and configured to select reference voltages within predetermined ranges for the reference voltages G (63:0) based upon digital data supplied to the respective sections; and a level converting circuit 104 which supplies digital data converted in voltage level according to the ranges of the reference voltages selected by the respective sections of the selecting circuit 102 to the respective sections. The plurality of MOS transistors of the selecting circuit 102 are those to which at least the respective reference voltages are input firstly and which have breakdown voltages lower than the voltage ranges of the reference voltages V0 to V8.
