PURPOSE: A power control apparatus and a method thereof are provided to control over current by sensing over voltage induced more than rated voltage, thereby preventing a generator from being quarantined from a system. CONSTITUTION: A current comparator(40) calculates error currents based on a difference between measured currents, measured in a generator(10), and reference currents of the generator. A control unit calculates an effective power value by receiving the error current, and outputs a switch driving signal corresponding to the calculated effective power value. A switch(60) is operated by the switch driving signal. A storage(70) consumes the error currents by being connected to the switch. The control unit comprises a controller(52) and the driver(54).
