<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a luminaire capable of supplying proper power to a fluorescent lamp having different lamp pin spaces without fail with simple structure. <P>SOLUTION: A space between a pair of lamp pins 13(14) provided in the base 12 of the fluorescent lamp 11 is changed in accordance with a rated power, two or more kinds of spaces between power supply terminals 21(22) of a socket 20 are provided corresponding to the spaces between the lamp pins, and proper power is supplied to the power supply terminals 21(22).
