<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To widen a variable range of travel speed in a vehicle in which first and second front-rear wheels are driven by a first variable hydraulic motor and a second fixed hydraulic motor which are fluid-connected in series to a variable hydraulic pump. <P>SOLUTION: The hydraulic drive vehicle comprises a by-pass valve 30 allowing communication or cutting off communication between a pump/second-motor line 28a and a second-motor/first-motor line 28b. When the by-pass valve cuts off communication between both lines, the capacity of the first hydraulic motor 14 is set to a reference capacity set when the peripheral speed of the first wheel 9 driven by the first hydraulic motor is substantially the same as the peripheral speed of the second wheel 8 driven by the second hydraulic motor 13.
