<p>A lash adjuster in which an oil film by a squeeze effect is less likely to occur between the pressure flank of a male screw thread and the pressure flank of a female screw thread. The lash adjuster (1) is provided with a nut (14) having a female screw thread (15) on the inner periphery thereof, an adjusting screw (17) having on the outer periphery thereof a male screw thread (16) engaging with the female screw thread (15), and a return spring (19) for urging the adjusting screw (17) in a direction in which the adjusting screw (17) projects from the nut (14). When an axial load in a direction in which the adjusting screw (17) is pushed into the nut (14) is applied to the adjusting screw (17), the axial load is received by the pressure flanks (25, 27) of the male screw thread (16) and the female screw thread (15). The flank angle a of the pressure flank (25) of the male screw thread (16) and the flank angle ß of the pressure flank (27) of the female screw thread (15) are set to be different from each other.</p> |
