<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a PLC (Programmable Controller) system set by a peripheral device regardless of a model name or a version of a PLC unit. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The PLC unit stores identification information and specific information. The peripheral device includes: a specific information database means for storing specific information by identification information about the PLC unit; and a database updating means which determines whether or not the specific information stored in the specific information database means is available on the basis of comparison between the identification information stored in the connected PLC unit and the identification information stored in the specific information database means and when it is not available, acquires the specific information from the connected PLC unit, and updates the storage data of the specific information database means.
