The apparatus has two weights (5) that are each moved vertically by a cable (6). This rolls round two pulleys (7,8), on the top of the frame (2), and one pulley (8) pivots round an axis which is the same axis as the cable. The cable is joined to a second cable (10) that rolls round two fixed pulleys (11,12) and a pivoting pulley (13), on the bottom of the frame. The free ends of the cable can be joined to handles (14), or other accessories. Each weight can have a finger that rests against an adjustable stop on the frame.
