PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an absorbent resin particle excellent in absorbing velocity. SOLUTION: The method for producing the absorbent resin particle includes a process (1) to obtain a hydrous gel by negative phase suspension polymerization of a water soluble vinyl monomer (a1) and/or a hydrolyzable vinyl monomer (a2) as well as an internal crosslinking agent (b) in the presence of a foaming agent (A), or a process (2) to obtain a hydrous gel by mixing a crosslinked polymer gel (B), obtained by negative phase suspension polymerization of a water soluble vinyl monomer (a1) and/or a hydrolyzable vinyl monomer (a2) as well as an internal crosslinking agent (b), with a foaming agent (A), and a heating process (3) of performing heat treatment of the hydrous gel.
