<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an unpacking method and device capable of taking out insertion paper and glass substrates by peeling the insertion paper from the glass substrates without damaging the glass substrates in a stacked body formed by alternately stacking the glass substrates and the insertion paper folded in two. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The tip of the upper piece of the insertion paper 4A located at the uppermost part of the stacked body 1A are nipped by a pair of nip rollers 25a, 25b. In a state of holding the tip of the insertion paper 4A in a fixed position, the pair of nip rollers are moved into the folded position of the insertion paper along the upper face of the stacked body while rotating the pair of nip rollers, and turn back there, and the nip roller 25a located in front in a traveling direction is allowed to travel while being pressed to the upper face of the stacked body to peel the insertion paper 4A from the glass substrate 3 while regulating the peeling position of the insertion paper 4A by the nip roller 25a.
