PURPOSE: An apparatus and method of electronic toll collection system is provided to reduce the production cost by excluding the mount of the separate speaker from the OBU(On Board Unit). CONSTITUTION: The OBU(100) receives a message the payment amount and balance information of the vehicles from the electronic toll collection system to the radio system. The OB existence transmits the payment amount and balance information to the bluetooth communications method through the bluetooth module(110) to the payment guide means(400). The road side unit(500) is included in the electronic toll collection system. The road side unit decides the accounting status type by wireless telecommunication of the vehicles passing through the high-pass section on highway. The car audio(200) is operated by the payment guide means. The display device(210) of the car audio displays the text message about the payment amount and balance information. The speaker(300) outputs the voice message about the payment amount and balance information.
