<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine which of duplicated ECC circuits is wrong. <P>SOLUTION: Every time data are read from a memory (10), a first CPU (21) determines whether or not non-correspondence is detected from the result of comparison in a first comparison circuit (51), prescribed data for generating an ECC error are written to the memory on the basis of the determination, and processing to determine the failure of a first ECC circuit (41) from the failure of a second ECC circuit (42) is performed.
