Automatic powdered sample preparation adding and mixing e.g. borate stabiliser to cement

摘要

This novel method prepares samples of fine material for analysis in die-pressed form. A weighed sample is added to a stabilising material in predetermined mass ratio in the following stages. The sample is precisely weighed. The computer inputs the result to calculate the appropriate weight of neutral stabiliser to be added. This weight is added to the sample in powder form, then both are mixed intimately together. Also claimed is the corresponding apparatus for sample preparation. It includes a sample transporter (1) carrying the container between a filling position under a delivery unit (4) for the sample, and a unit (6) for dosing with stabiliser.
