USE OF NUCLEIC ACID CONTAINING UNMETHYLATED CpG DINUCLEOTIDE AS ADJUVANT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use a nucleic acid containing at least one unmethylated cytosine-guanine (CpG) dinucleotide as an adjuvant, based on a finding in which the nucleic acid influences on immune response in a subject.

SOLUTION: The nucleic acid containing at least one unmethylated cytosine-guanine (CpG) dinucleotide can be used for inducing immune response in a subject. The method includes a step of administering therapeutic effective amount of the nucleic acid encoding an antigen polypeptide and therapeutic effective amount of oligonucleotide containing at least one unmethylated CpG dinucleotide to the subject. The present invention, further, provides a method for treating the subject having virus-mediated disease or having risk having the disease, including a step of administering an effective amount of an oligonucleotide containing therapeutic effective amount of nucleic acid encoding the antigen polypeptide and an effective amount of an oligonucleotide containing at least unmethylated CpG dinucleotide to a subject.
