A titanate having an alkali metal titanate bonded thereto. This material, when used as a friction modifier, has excellent frictional and wearing properties and, when used as a dielectric, is excellent in mechanical properties and dielectric characteristics. Also provided are a process for producing the titanate and a resin composition containing the titanate.
