The method involves receiving vectors from toll collection devices (1) arranged in motor vehicles by a toll center (4), where the vectors contain position data of the motor vehicles associated at a time point. An analysis device (26) is provided for determining a traffic condition for route sections based on the received vectors and a number of vehicles determined from the vectors based on the route sections. The traffic condition is transmitted to the motor vehicles by a transmission device (27). An independent claim is also included for a device for traffic control.
