The disclosure relates to a printing system providing increased resistance to wet smudge, which comprises: an inkjet ink comprising a free binder and a modified pigment, wherein the free binder comprises a polymer selected from the group consisting of a polyethyleneimine, a polyguanide, a styrene maleic anhydride imide, a quaternary ammonium compound, a styrene-acrylic polymer, a styrene maleic anhydride polymer, a polyurethane, and mixtures thereof, the modified pigment comprising a polymer having a molecular weight ranging from approximately 4000 to approximately 17500 attached to a surface of a pigment; a fixer fluid; and a porous print medium. Also disclosed is a method of producing a printed image having increased resistance to wet smudge on a porous print medium.
