Compositions and methods for increasing bone mineralization

Provided is an isolated antibody, or antigen-binding fragment thereof, that specifically binds to an epitope of amino acids 86-111 of a specified sequence and is capable of increasing bone density or bone mineral content in a mammal. Further provided are corresponding nucleic acids encoding the antibody, methods of producing it and use of the antibody in the manufacture of a medicament for increasing bone mineral content in a warm-blooded animal.
