The telephone traffic analysis system has a switching network (1,2) forming part of a telephone network (3). There is a mechanism (6,7) surveilling the switching network and delivering digital words (D1,D2) for the telephone traffic. The digital words are decoded and selected as traffic analysis information crossing the interface (13).
