<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve an optical compensation film that eliminates the need for complicated steps, and at low cost without needlessly increasing the thickness of an optical apparatus when in use, and also that is easy to control a phase difference for each wavelength of light. <P>SOLUTION: The optical compensation film 1 includes a plurality of macromolecules A, B having the same code of an orientation birefringence value that is different to each other. The film utilizes the fact that there exists a plurality of unit areas a, b having the phase differences to the light with the same wavelength which are different by ≥10 nm against adjacent unit areas a, b, when divided into a plurality of unit areas along a parallel direction to a film surface, and that the wavelength dependence of the phase difference in each unit area is different to the wavelength dependence of the compound phase difference in the total area including all unit areas. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
