PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seat plate angle adjusting device of a chair which is capable of maintaining the state of an excellent appearance at all times without exposing a bolt in any angle adjusted state, in the chair in which the inclination angle of a seat part is adjusted by rotating a handle provided below the seat part. SOLUTION: The seat plate angle adjusting device of the chair includes a base member 11 supported by a leg part, a tilting member 12 vertically tiltably pivoted to the base member at a pivot part to support a seat plate, and angle adjusting means 13 for adjusting the inclination angle of the tilting member. In the angle adjusting means, a bolt 16 is threadedly engaged into an internally threaded hole (nut 42) provided vertically through the base member, the lower part of the bolt is loosely inserted into the non-circular hole 18 of the handle 17 mounted on the lower surface of the base member so as to be rotated at a fixed position, a rotation transmission member 19 fitted inside the non-circular hole so as not to be relatively rotated and so as to be slid along the hole is connected to the lower end of the bolt so as not to be rotated, and the upper end of the bolt is rotatably attached to the lower surface of the tilting member.
