<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To select a user who is higher in orthogonality with respect to a user selection method and communication equipment in a multi-user MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) system. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A multi-user MIMO system includes a base station transmitter 10 having M antennas and a plurality of receivers 20<SB>1</SB>to 20<SB>N</SB>. Channel information from respective transmission antennas estimated by respective receivers 20<SB>1</SB>to 20<SB>N</SB>to their own reception antennas is fed back to a channel prediction part 16 of the transmitter 10 and a channel value in the transmission timing is predicted. A semi-orthogonal user selection part 11 selects M users who are almost high in orthogonality on the basis of the predicted channel value. A user re-selection part 12 divides the selected M users into (a) (1≤a≤M-2) users and M-a users, leaves a user group highest in orthogonality among user groups consisting of M-a users, and repeats processing for substituting the (a) users with other users, so that M users higher in orthogonality are determined.
