摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately restrain an engine stall due to rotation of an input shaft and an output shaft of a torque converter in different directions in a vehicle including a fluid type torque converter between an engine and an automatic transmission. <P>SOLUTION: An ECU calculates target idle speed A of the engine (S100). When the ECU determines the output shaft of the torque converter rotates in the different direction (negative rotation) from the input shaft (YES at S102), the ECU determines whether the target idle speed A is smaller than a value obtained by adding the predetermined value &alpha; to an absolute value ¾NT¾ of turbine speed NT (output shaft speed of the torque converter) (S104). When A<¾NT¾+&alpha; is satisfied (YES at S104), the ECU increases and corrects the target idle speed A (S106) to satisfy (the target idle speed A)=¾NT¾+&alpha;. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
