PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for cutting and forming a sealing member which causes pile fabric fibers not to enter between edges of a cutting blade when a raw fabric comprising the pile fabric is cut, and to provide a sealing member produced by the method. SOLUTION: A sealing member 1 for preventing powder outflow comprises a profiled pile fabric 3 having a supporting layer 4 and piles 3a and is formed by a method of forming the sealing member 1 into a predetermined form, including plural cutting steps using a base 5 shown in (a) of Fig. 1 and having plural cutting blades 7 and cutting blades 8 profiled into different forms by intermittently sending a raw fabric 2 of a pile fabric 3 serially, in the method of producing the sealing member 1 for preventing powder outflow by cutting the raw fabric 2 comprising the pile fabric 3.
