The present invention provides for a microwave radio communications user device arranged for communication with a base station and for receiving and decoding an MPDU for use in initial ranging signalling with the said base station, the device being further arranged to retrieve data in a downlink sub-frame from the base station serving to discriminate between MPDUs intended for different user devices.
