PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material and a method for treating epidemic infection of non-A non-B hepatitis virus (NANBV). SOLUTION: An anti-hepatitis C virus (HCV) antibody immunologically bonds to a site in a polypeptide composed of a sequence of at least eight consecutive amino acids. The site can be bonded by an antibody to HCV, and the sequence of at least eight consecutive amino acids is derived from an amino acid sequence obtained by the deletion, insertion or substitution of one or more amino acids in an amino acid sequence described in the specification.
