PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adsorbent material excellent in performance of adsorbing and removing both of acidic odorous gas components and basic odorous gas components and excellent also in durability. SOLUTION: An alkaline aqueous solution is added to an aqueous copper salt solution to form a precipitate of copper hydroxide. The precipitate is freed of the liquid and the resultant precipitate containing hydration water is dissolved in an aqueous phosphoric acid solution by adding the solution to the precipitate to produce an aqueous copper phosphate solution containing copper ions in high concentration. The aqueous copper phosphate solution containing ≥0.25 mol of copper ions per mol of phosphoric acid is supported on a base material containing a porous adsorptive material and then dried.
