PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve usability when saving power of an external memory. SOLUTION: The CPU 110 of a personal computer 100 creates a virtual drive 132, acquires attributive information concerning the data stored in a hard disk 220 from an outside hard disk drive 200, and stores it in the virtual drive 132. Thereafter, when instruction concerning the attributive information is input, the CPU 110 accesses the virtual drive 132, and acquires the attributive information stored in the virtual drive 132, and displays it in a display device 400. When a data read instruction concerning the outside hard disk drive 200 or a new data write instruction is input, the outside hard disk drive 200 is accessed, and the data is reads or new data is written.
