<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To instantly determine whether a vehicle momentum sensor is normal or abnormal without providing redundancy. Ž<P>SOLUTION: It is made possible to suitably select the voltage levels of abnormality signals outputted from first and second output circuits 24a and 24b, when an acceleration sensor is determined to be abnormal by a self-diagnostic circuit 25 in a selection circuit 26. This makes it possible to turn sensor outputs outputted from the output circuits 24a and 24b into values that cannot normally arise, while making it possible to instantaneously determine whether the acceleration sensor is normal or abnormal, without having to check the redundancy.
