<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceiling joist receiver connecting member capable of easily positioning ceiling joist receivers and preventing the dislocation of the connected ceiling joist receivers, and a ceiling joist receiver set and a ceiling backing material. <P>SOLUTION: A plurality of ceiling joist receivers 3 are held from the side by a sidewall 21 of the ceiling joist receiver connecting member 19 to position the plurality of ceiling joist receivers 3, 3 to each other in the width direction and to restrict the width direction movement of the ceiling joist receivers 3. The height direction (vertical direction) movement of the ceiling joist receivers 3 is restricted by a plate part 20 and locking claws 25 of the ceiling joist receiver connecting member 19. A pair of locking claws 25 position the ceiling joist receivers 3 to each other in the longitudinal direction and restrict the longitudinal movement of the ceiling joist receivers 3.
