CORRECTION VALUE CALCULATION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve precision of correction of each color with respect to a correction value calculation method. SOLUTION: The correction value calculation method includes the steps of: forming on a medium a correction pattern including sub-patterns of a plurality of gradations for respective colors as a correction pattern of colors to be corrected; reading the correction pattern to acquire a plurality of pieces of color information corresponding to variations in gradations for each colors; finding a rate of variation in color information for variation in gradation among respective sub-patterns, and calculating differences between maximum and minimum values of a plurality of rates for each piece of color information; selecting pieces of color information for each color based upon the differences between the maximum and minimum values of rates of the respective pieces of color information; and calculating correction values of the respective colors based upon the selected pieces of color information.
