The present invention relates to a method for purifying a gas comprising pollutants by an absorption process combined with biological purification processes. The pollutants absorbed in the in the aqueous absorbing agent will degrade to biomass, water and CO2. The present invention also relates to a system adapted for performing the method according to the present invention, and uses of the method to purify gases such as those, which may be found in livestock buildings.
