摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable valve train adjusting method capable of suppressing errors in a valve operating angle and performing highly accurate valve control by sufficiently filling a clearance from a control shaft to an arm, and a variable valve train used in the adjusting method. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In a preliminary driving process, a relative axial force toward the opposite side of axial reference faces 58a, 64a, 66a, 68a is applied to a slider gear 76 by a wedge 86 to rotate a camshaft, so that as valve lift is repeated, a clearance from the control shaft 28 to the slider gear 76 is naturally filled in a short time. In a measurement driving process, as the relative axial force by the wedge 86 is released, a highly accurate valve operating angle or a maximum valve lift amount can be measured in a state that all clearances are completely filled. In an interval determining process, as a shim thickness is determined based on the measurement value, errors in the valve operating angle for each cylinder or in the valve operating angles among cylinders are suppressed to enable the adjustment of the variable valve train allowing highly accurate valve control.
