<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear motion brake (lock) device excellent in energizing ratio and contact pressure. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Rotors 3 and 3' are rotatably assembled in an inclined member 2, and the rotors 3 and 3' are respectively formed with a friction surface with a rod 1. When force is applied to support points 11 and 12 of the inclined member 2, a load applied to the rod 1 is generated in a contact surface with the rotors 3 and 3' and reaction force from radial bearings 5 and 5', and a value obtained by multiplying these load by a friction coefficient works as brake (lock) force.
