PURPOSE: A Chinese input system and a method thereof are provided to enable a user to input Chinese characters simply and promptly by efficiently arranging initial consonants and final consonants on few keys. CONSTITUTION: A first search engine(104) searches for a Chinese word DB based on syllabic sound, and the searched result is stored in a first search result DB. If the number of characters exceeds 12, a first selection input keyboard(112) displays the searched Chinese character by the first search engine. The first selection input keyboard selects or searches the Chinese characters directly. If the number of Chinese characters is less than 12, the second input keyboard(120) selects the Chinese characters directly. |
