This invention refers to a container (2) and to a furnace in which said container can be included for forming a hearth or for forming an accumulator tank. The container (2) is adapted for enclosing a fluid or to be surrounded by a fluid, with four coordinated side portions (2c, 2d, 2e, 2f) and with two end portions (2g, 2h), with side portions and end portions coordinated and united with each other such, that together they form a parallelepipedic shape, where at least two opposing wall or side portions are concavely shaped with their surface extensions (2c', 2e') / facing each other. The end portions (2g, 2h) may exhibit concavely shaped surface extensions or individual flat sections (2g1, 2g2) at angles with regard to each other and with a connecting line facing inwards. The present invention is advising a curved shaped inner surface exposing a ratio ("R/L") between the radius of curvature ("R") and the chord ("L") to be less than 2.5, however not tending towards zero. |
