PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device capable of enhancing the appearance and the visibility of display information at low cost by suppressing the glaring of external light without using a circular polarization plate. SOLUTION: In the display device, a projection length of an external light shut-off hood 75 and an inclination angleθa of a self-light emission type display panel 63 are set so that all light beams reflected by a self-light emission display surface 63a and incident to an eye point area I become the light beam emitted from an inner surface of the external light shut-off hood 75 when a clamping angleθa formed of a back surface of the self-light emission display surface 63a of the self-light emission type display panel 63 and a horizontal surface satisfies 0°≤θa≤90°. Thereby, the glaring of the external light can be suppressed without using the circular polarization plate, and the expensive circular polarization plate can be omitted. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
