<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller for a vehicle, capable of properly suppressing bouncing and pitching without deteriorating drivability of the vehicle. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The controller for a vehicle generates a driving force or a braking force on front and rear wheels by a driving force generating mechanism based on a driving force distribution ratio calculated to control the pitching or bouncing of a vehicle body in response to the state of the pitching or bouncing. The controller is provided with a driving force changing means for controlling a braking mechanism different from a driving force generating mechanism when the driving force or braking force generated in either front or rear wheels based on the driving force distribution ratio becomes almost zero in order to generate a predetermined braking force on either the front or rear wheels, and adding a driving force canceling the predetermined braking force to the initial driving force or braking force which is almost zero, thereby controlling the driving force generating mechanism to generate a driving force on either the front or rear wheels (steps S5-S7).
