<p>The marine ship cooling system of the prior art has a defect that the inboard electric power is wastefully consumed because a cooling sea-water transfer pump or the like is run in the rated output. In order to eliminate that defect, there is disclosed a speed control apparatus for a cooling sea-water transfer pump. The speed control apparatus comprises a cooling sea-water transfer pump and a cooling sea-water transfer pump drive motor for feeding a heat exchanger with sea water, an inverter device for controlling the speed of the cooling sea-water transfer pump drive motor, a clean water temperature adjusting valve for adjusting the flow rate of the clean water cooled by the heat exchanger and the flow rate of the clean water coming from a clean water bypass conduit, and an adjusting valve control device for adjusting the opening of the clean water temperature adjusting valve with the temperature of the clean water on the downstream side of the clean water temperature adjusting valve. The speed control apparatus is characterized in that the inverter device calculates the operating speed on the basis of the valve opening of the clean water temperature adjusting valve and a predetermined valve opening target value, thereby to control the speed of the cooling sea-water transfer pump drive motor with the operating speed.</p> |
