<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic analyzer achieving both of improvement of analyzing efficiency and securement of the number of measurable analysis items by switching a dispensing method in accordance with the amount of a sample. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The automatic analyzer is provided with a control means for controlling a plurality of sets of sample dispensing mechanisms so that the sample in a specimen vessel is not dispensed in at least one of the sample dispensing mechanisms when the amount of the sample is smaller than the amount of the sample required for analysis.
