<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an earthquake warning apparatus for instantaneously obtaining earthquake information, and quickly taking an action in case that an earthquake occurs. <P>SOLUTION: The earthquake warning apparatus includes: a location information obtaining means, a receiving means for receiving an urgent earthquake news flash; a timekeeping means; an earthquake information obtaining means for calculating a predicted earthquake intensity and a time delay until a principal quake arrives, based on location information, a current time and the urgent earthquake news flash; and a control means for controlling a display panel. The display panel has first and second numeric display sections 33, 34 for displaying two digits. In a normal display mode, the control means displays the hour of the current time on the first numeric display section 33, and displays the minute of the current time on the second numeric display section 34.
