PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a release film reduced in peeling charge, excellent in peelability and suitable as a carrier film for manufacturing a thin-layer ceramic sheet. SOLUTION: A release layer comprising a silicone resin, wherein a residual Si-H group index (Rh) and a residual Si-CH=CH<SB>2</SB>group index (Rv) after curing reaction satisfy the formula (3): Rh(=Ih/Im)≤0.01 and the formula (4): Rv[=ä(Iv-0.765×Iph)/Im}-(Iph/Im)]≤0.08 (wherein Ih, Iv, Im and Iph are each a peak height originating from an Si-CH group in the vicinity of 2,170cm<SP>-1</SP>, a peak height originating from an Si-CH=CH<SB>2</SB>group in the vicinity of 1,598cm<SP>-1</SP>, a peak height originating from an Si-CH<SB>3</SB>group in the vicinity of 1,410cm<SP>-1</SP>and a peak height originating from an Si-C<SB>6</SB>H<SB>5</SB>group in the vicinity of 1,570cm<SP>-1</SP>in the Raman spectrum), is provided on one side of a polyester film wherein a terminal carboxyl group concentration (AV:eq/ton) and a terminal hydroxyl group concentration (OHV: eq/ton) satisfy the formula (1): AV≤40 and the formula (2): AV+OHV≤120.
