An emergency cooling system in an outdoor box for communication equipment and a method thereof are provide to install a sub-cooling system at the upper and lower portions inside the outdoor box and connect the sub-cooling system to an emergency power supplying part, so that the structure is simplified, and an installation work is simple and economical. The first cooling device is driven. The state of the first cooling device is detected, and if an operation failure event of the first cooling device occurs, the operation of a 2-1 cooling device and a 2-2 cooling device is ordered. The 2-1 cooling device and the 2-2 cooling device are driven. If the first cooling device is an air conditioner, the 2-1 cooling device is an exhaust fan(50), and the 2-2 cooling device is a suction fan(60).
