PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a laser scanning optical apparatus having a case which has necessary rigidity, does not result in a large external size and does not spoil the arrangement of other optical elements. SOLUTION: In the laser scanning optical apparatus, a plurality of laser beams L modulated on the basis of image data are deflected with a polygon mirror 10, and photoreceptor drums 40 which are arranged in parallel to each other are scanned with the laser beams, respectively. The case 35 arranged as a rid member on the open part of a housing body 31 holds second scanning lenses 24 on its one main face, the width dimension of the case 35 is shorter than the arrangement length B of the photoreceptor drums 40 and reinforcement ribs 36 are formed on the one main face.
